Crossing The Line Festival

L’Alliance’s acclaimed Crossing The Line Festival, now in its eighteenth year, celebrates dynamic artists and diverse perspectives from around the French-speaking world, in partnership with New York City’s leading art institutions.

The program comprises an array of groundbreaking, thought-provoking film, music, dance, theater, installation, and performance, many of which are world, U.S., North American, or New York premieres. The works celebrate diversity, inclusion and hope, and represent the urgency of dialogue in this country and across oceans.

Past Crossing The Line Festival highlights include the New York Premiere of Tiago Rodrigues’ Catarina and the Beauty of Killing Fascists in 2024, the North American premiere of Marilyn’s Vertigo featuring a solo performance from renowned actress Isabelle Adjani in 2023, the world premiere of choreographer Kimberly Bartosik’s dance show The Encounter in 2022, a concert by Grammy-nominated singer Somi in 2021, and a cross-media adaptation of filmmaker John Cassavetes’ Opening Night directed by Cyril Teste and starring Adjani, Morgan Lloyd Sicard, and Frédéric Pierrot in 2019.

The Crossing The Line Festival is curated by Violaine Huisman.
