Montclair Bastille Day Weekend 2026

Experience the spirit of France in Montclair with a joyful weekend of film, shopping, music, food, and community celebrations for all ages!

Celebrated every year on July 14 in France and around the world, Bastille Day is France’s national holiday and a vibrant celebration of culture, community, and joie de vivre.

In Montclair, the festivities begin Friday evening, July 10, with the annual Bastille Day Garden Party, a beloved Montclair tradition since 2008, held for the first time at the beautiful Kip’s Castle. Guests will enjoy a a cocktail reception, a refined French country buffet by Cuisine Boulud, founded by renowned four Michelin star chef Daniel Boulud, desserts created by Montclair-based pastry chef Janelle Manning, wine and cheese, live jazzy music, dancing, French-themed raffle prizes, and breathtaking views of the New York City skyline along with the chance to win two Air France tickets from New York to Paris.

On Saturday, July 11, discover the second edition of Montclair French Shopping Day, Developed in partnership with the Montclair BID. Downtown Montclair will come alive with a French-inspired passport experience featuring shopping, tastings, special promotions, music, photo opportunities, and activities at participating businesses. Guests who complete their passports will be entered into a raffle featuring prizes from local businesses, along with entry into a grand-prize drawing for a hotel stay in France

The celebration continues Saturday evening with a special screening of Leave One Day (Partir un jour) by Amélie Bonnin at the Clairidge Theater, presented in partnership with Montclair Film. The event will also launch a new benefit for L’Alliance New York members in Montclair: complimentary access to select French-language films at the Clairidge or Bellevue Theatre.

Et la fête continue… on Sunday, July 12 on Madison Avenue in Manhattan for the largest Bastille Day celebration outside of France, welcoming more than 50,000 visitors for an exceptional day of performances, food, culture, and festivities organized by L’Alliance New York.
